This tale of Odysseus the Candyman makes me very thankful that butterscotch is not a million dollars a pound in the real world! I think I would be a very sad or very broke man. Probably both!Cody Whatleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12463593502052056449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7850978732318782266.post-63555584462803783952014-08-31T19:17:24.364-05:002014-08-31T19:17:24.364-05:00Butterscotch is worth one million dollars?! I think your use of the Candyland theme for your story really helped you make this story interesting and fun to read. Great job this week! I can't wait to read the rest of your work.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16112053049343317872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7850978732318782266.post-29319485334889233972014-08-31T16:53:40.005-05:002014-08-31T16:53:40.005-05:00Great story Anthony! I read Homer's Odyssey when I was in high school and it has always been a favorite of mine. Your rendition of the story was very funny and I enjoyed reading about a world made of candy and peppermint men on the pursuit of butterscotch!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17591091937854285598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7850978732318782266.post-17956609517152849702014-08-27T16:37:55.332-05:002014-08-27T16:37:55.332-05:00P.S. I am always trying to inspire other teachers to include creative writing assignments in their classes in addition to the regular kind of writing assignments, and I thought your story was a perfect example of the great and unexpected things that can happen with creative writing. :-)
Laura Gibbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04994025992373244815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7850978732318782266.post-4457698813367767812014-08-27T15:26:54.598-05:002014-08-27T15:26:54.598-05:00Anthony, this is fabulous!!!!! And what a perfect example of why I love teaching this class: every week of every semester, people come up with totally original storytelling ideas different from anything anyone has ever done before.
GUMMY BEARS. HA! That is just so funny to me!!! I wish Homer were around to enjoy this wild version of his story!
This story made my day: thank you!Laura Gibbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04994025992373244815noreply@blogger.com
